Rudy's Wine Blog Welcome to Rudy’s wine blog! We are excited to introduce you to a fun and informative way to help me decide what wines we should offer in Rudy’s – Stevens Point. A few of the wine lovers at Rudy’s RedEye Grill have created this blog to introduce you to each wine on our list. The wine blog survey was created just so you can rate our wine offerings, add tasting notes, offer suggestions for additions to the list and ask questions. Check the page often to see what everyone is saying, and to catch the latest features, special pricing and rare wine offerings. The verdict is in on our holiday wine feature, Beaujolais Nouveau. It is always a challenge to select the holiday offering, because this wine is an annual pre buy. Looks like it was a very good pick. The wine received a 4 and a half glass rating (possible 5 glasses). We are selling out the 2007 just a bit over our wholesale cost at $15.25. When it’s gone, it’s history, so hurry in and get one of the last in the 2007 cru’. Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc is our new feature and we will split the cost of your second bottle with you. Not only are we offering a buy one and get the second bottle ½ off; we have this Reserve List selection by the glass as long as the feature runs. That will give everyone an opportunity to sample this one. This is a wine with bright, acidic, citrus and lemongrass flavors. I get a beautiful wet mineral brace in the mouth, (reminds me of Yorkville’s eloquent dry Elanore of Aquataine) not quite like sucking on a rock, but the thought does come to mind. Frog’s Leap is made exclusively of organically grown, dry-farmed grapes. The wine is 100% stainless-steel fermented and aged with a clean, crisp finish. It’s a good wine for complimentary food pairings. And true to it’s Rutherford roots it is a substantial wine of engaging distinctiveness.
